Preview: Sydney vs Geelong

The Cats were ripe for the picking last week when the Blues caused an upset at the G’ on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Cats things aren’t much better. They welcome back All-Australian full back Matthew Scarlett along with Mark Blake, David Johnson and Haryy Taylor at the expense of David Wojcinski (ankle), Darren Milburn (ankle), Max Rooke (knee soreness) and Kane Tenace (ommited).
Preview: Richmond vs Sydney

Two teams out of finals contentions but both still giving it their all. Richmond have won there last two under coach Jade Rawlings and have looked impressive. Last week Sydney went down to the yet to be defeated Saints by the smallest of margins which ultimately ruled them out of the race for a finals spot.
Preview: Sydney vs St Kilda

I have stated in previous rounds that the trip to the SCG is probably the hardest interstate trip of all. Sure, I may have said it prior to the one week that Sydney got defeated at the ground but I still stand by the statement! The only problem is St Kilda are in unbelievable form and still yet to be defeated this season. Like Geelong, its impossible to tip against the Saints for the remainder of the home and away season and despite the short $1.13 odds for the Saints there is still some value in this game.

Preview: Carlton vs Sydney
Jul2
Carlton have won their past two games against Richmond and Fremantle but have have not won 3 matches in a row since Rounds 11-13 of 2004. Thats just the beggining of terrible stats that point to Carlton losing this match. The Blues haven’t beaten Sydney since 2000, the past 11 times these clubs have met the Swans have won. Carlton have never beaten Sydney at Etihad Stadium. Brendan Fevola averages just 2.3 goals against Sydney (based on the past 5 times these teams have met. Last week Carlton had a Disposals Efficiency of just 68% – well down on the competition average of 74%.
Preview: Sydney vs Essendon

Believe it or not but Sydney are still in the finals race. They’re only a game out of the 8 and should they win they’d be on the same amount of points as Essendon. No Barry Hall in their forward line may or may not be a disadvantage. Matthew Knights said during the week that it would make their forward line unpredictable. For Sydney to win they’ll need to to be just that. If they constantly go to O’Loughlin they’ll quickly shut him down.
Preview: Sydney vs North Melbourne

Darren Crocker coached North Melbourne for the first time against the Bulldogs last week. He faced of the of harder tasks in football at the moment and that was coaching against the Western Bulldogs. North Melbourne put up a brave fight matching it with the Bulldogs for three quarter and eventually dropping off in the last quarter. Boomer Harvey was a welcome addition to the injury ridden Kangaroos squad last week.
